New Pharmacy Benefit Manager & Mail Order Service

Effective February 1, 2010, Capstone Health Plan has a new pharmacy benefit management (PBM) company, Partners Rx.  The mail order service will now be offered through Prescription Solutions.  They will continue to provide the same quality service and convenience with the mail order program for those Members using maintenance medications.

What if I want to use mail order, but I need my medication right away?  Ask your doctor for two prescriptions – one for a 30 day supply to fill immediately at a Partners Rx pharmacy and one for up to the maximum-day supply allowed by the mail order program. 

Can I choose where I want my medication to be sent?Yes.  Mail order offers you convenient prescription delivery to your home or office with refill amounts and dates noted on your prescription label. 

How long does it take for my mail order prescription to arrive?  Your prescriptions should arrive through U.S. Mail within 10 to 14 days. 

Can I transfer a prescription from my existing pharmacy to the mail order program?  No.  You must send an original prescription with your completed mail order registration form. 

What medications can get?  Medications appropriate for Mail Order delivery are:

ü  Seizure Medication

ü Diabetes, Including Insulin

ü Cholesterol, Blood Pressure & Heart Conditions 

What medications will NOT be available by Mail Order?

ü  Antibiotics and Topical medications (Creams, Ointments)

ü  Narcotics and Sleep Aids

ü  Medications requiring self-injection
